The Insidious Invasion of
HARRY POTTER

I have recently been made aware that in some areas of the U.S. and Canada, the Harry Potter series is REQUIRED READING for certain grade school levels. In Picton, Ontario, Canada, just a couple of weeks ago, I discovered, much to my horror, that the local grade school students were even being bused to movie theaters so they could view the Harry Potter films. This is extremely disturbing to me! The following four reasons explain why:

1. THIS IS NOTHING BUT WITCHCRAFT: A RECOGNIZED RELIGIOUS WORLDVIEW—The Harry Potter books and movies are promoting a recognized, religious worldview. The U.S. government gives 501C3 status to churches devoted to the Wiccan religion, Witchcraft and Satanism. Our laws do not allow any biblical instruction in our public educational institutions, in order to maintain separation of church and state. How dare school authorities ignore this ruling in order to introduce our children to another religious worldview, especially one that is demonic in origin. Harry Potter is nothing less than “Witchcraft 101”: a basic course in how to cast spells, conjure up demon powers and dabble in spiritual activities the Bible calls “abominations.”

2. CHILDREN ARE IMPRESSIONABLE—As you all know, children are very impressionable. They are easily influenced and swayed, especially when something appears to be the “in” thing. The popularity of the Harry Potter series could easily warp a vast majority of this present younger generation and produce a glut of hard-core, professing witches and warlocks ten years from now. If it doesn’t actually influence the children to participate in this kind of activity, it will influence them to condone it. Hitler was very careful to control the school system in his day, so he could mold immature souls into what he needed to further his diabolical “Third Reich” agenda. And you can be sure; there are influential people in high places that want an acceptance of witchcraft among the young, in order to further another more modern, but equally dark agenda. Of course, someone may say, “These are just fiction books! Fiction can’t hurt them!” Yes it can!!! You need to remember that children have a very difficult time separating fantasy from reality, so much so that sometimes their fantasies actually become their realities.

3. CHILDREN ARE IMITATORS—Children tend to identify with the ‘heroes’ or the main characters in a story and often want to become like them. I recently heard of a young boy who wanted to start wearing glasses so he would look more like Harry. If children are prone to imitating Harry’s modes of dress, they will most likely be found imitating Harry’s penchant for casting spells on those he doesn’t like.

4. CHILDREN ARE VULNERABLE—Children are very vulnerable to evil external influence, because in many cases, they have not developed discernment so they distinguish between right and wrong. It is our responsibility as adults and committed believers to watch over the things that influence our children so demonic invasion of their lives does not take place. Edmond Burke said it so well, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Beloved friends, let us not be guilty of letting the enemy take over. Let us do something to make a difference in our world!
